Youth Music Classes
Music Authority offers group classes for youth students starting at the age of 3 1/2 up to 18. Students are encouraged to work together to achieve a common goal. Collaboration and social interaction are the main themes here. Students have the opportunity to learn from each other in a friendly, non competitive atmosphere. Students get to make new friends with their fellow musicians. Regular in-class performances motivate the young musicians to polish and complete each song they learn. Even learning about music theory is fun when in a group setting. For younger children, material is presented in an interactive game-like fashion which gets all children involved and eager to learn.
Music Play for Beginners
Music Play for Beginners is a fun, interactive group classes for 3 1/2 to 5 year olds that covers the elements of music and serves as a foundation for beginning private lessons on any instrument. This is a general music class that will cover topics such as rhythm, tempo, dynamics, types of instruments and more!
At every session of the Music Play Class students will explore music through movement, singing and playing instruments such as the bells, shakers and drums; while receiving the added benefits of participating in making music as a group. Through this class students will practice valuable skills such as teamwork, following directions and communication that will carry over into their time at school and other activities.
Kids in the class have enjoyed an instrument zoo where students were able to listen to and handle instruments from the string, woodwind and percussion families, singing and dancing to silly songs, and a crafts day where students had the opportunity to make and take home their own instruments. Music Play for Beginners is an enrichment class that will give students a well-rounded introduction to music and a head start on beginning private music lessons.

Rock Band
For those serious about rock, we salute you!
Rock Band is designed to encourage music students to excel in a team environment while playing their favorite rock-n-roll instruments, including guitar, bass guitar, drums, keys (piano), vocals, violin, and wind instruments. Students are hand-picked and grouped with other musicians in their age range. It is an intense 14-week course that promotes teamwork, responsibility, and confidence, all while rocking out!
