Music Authority has worked with numerous students of the Westland community of all ages and backgrounds!  We take pride in our ability to help aspiring pianists of all ages reach their goals.  For children, we've had students as young as 4 years old begin piano lessons with us!  But at the same time, we find many young children aren't quite ready to begin lessons just yet.  Before a child begins piano lessons with us, we evaluate their learning pace to determine if they are ready for piano lessons.  If we find your child needs a little bit more preparation before beginning lessons, we offer a great program called Music Play for Beginners that introduces younger children to music and helps groom them for music lessons.

The piano is a complex instrument that takes patience and time to master.  However, by establishing the proper piano lesson plan, and the willingness to devote enough time to the learning process, a piano student will be fully prepared for success.  Our piano lessons begin with a preliminary consultation to determine the best course of action for your piano lesson.  We will pair you with one of our highly-qualified piano teachers that best suits your piano learning needs.

Our piano lessons are conducted in weekly, private sessions with the instructor (at our school, or online).  We strive to offer ample resources to encourage the learning process outside of the private lessons as well, including piano lesson literature (available for purchase at our school), and arranging group piano sessions among piano student peers.

We believe that part of becoming a well-rounded musician is the ability to perform in front of an audience. Twice a year, our piano students participate in a formal recital in front of their family, mentors, and peers. The recitals are a great opportunity for our students to demonstrate their progress, and helps them gain self-esteem and confidence in their abilities.
