Therese Rose, Team Leader

Therese Rose has been passionate about music her entire life and has always had a job in and around the music industry. She has worked in management at music academies in Michigan, Tennessee and New York for the past decade. Before that, she was the head of DJ Operations and Administration at a multi-media company. In addition to her management positions, Therese has also been teaching, deejaying and performing around the country as well as the world this past 15 years. She is very excited to be a new member of Music Authority's School of Achievers and is dedicated to provide the best in customer service as your Team Leader.









Denisa Craciun, Voice and Piano

Denisa Craciun was born in Romania. She started singing at the age of four and began her piano studies at the age of seven. Denisa got her singing talent from her grandfather and her first TV performance as a singer was at the National Romanian TV station when she was only ten years old.

During the years, Denisa has won numerous awards as a traditional folk singer at prestigious folk Romanian competitions. She has won several prizes as a piano performer at national and international piano competitions. At the age of fourteen Denisa performed Concerto no.5 in F minor for Harpsichord and string orchestra by J.S Bach at Eurochestries International Youth Orchestra Festival in Charente Maritime, France.

Denisa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance at the University of Music in Bucharest, Romania and got her piano teaching certificate during her studies at the University.

Always with a smile on her face she is kind and patient, loves kids and enjoys teaching. She truly believes that everyone can sing or play like a star. Her motto is “All it takes is to have a little faith and sing from the heart”.





Viviana Garabello, Voice

Viviana was born and raised in Italy.

In 2014, she moved to the United States of America (Michigan), with the purpose to expand her dreams of a professional career in Music. Viviana has already accomplished many noteworthy achievements and awards, both in Italy and in the United States, during more than twenty years of experience in the music field. Viviana is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Film Music Scoring at Madonna University.

As a vocal performer, Viviana has had many different roles in well known works by Bizet, Susanna, Mozart, Puccini, Bellini, and more. Viviana is a member of several honorary organizations, including the Verdi Opera Theater of Michigan, the Alliance for Women Film Composers, the American Choral Directors Association, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the Italian American Charitable Foundation, the Society of Future Teachers, and the Student National Association of Teacher of Singing. Viviana loves teaching and supporting students of all ages. She is very personable, approachable and always positive.





Katherine MacKenzie, Violin

Katherine MacKenzie is an active freelance musician in the Detroit Metropolitan area. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from Wayne State University where she studied with Detroit Symphony Orchestra violinist Marian Tanua. She obtained her Master's degree in Violin Performance from Bowling Green State University, where she studied under Professor Vasile Beluska and Dr. Stephen Miahky. Katherine has mentored Toledo high school students, the Detroit Civic Youth Symphony and the Dearborn Youth Symphony, and has also worked with Bowling Green's Children Resource Center, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp's Bernstein Orchestra. She has performed with the Michigan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra, and the Lima Symphony Orchestra in addition to performing at weddings with the Go 4 Baroque Company. She is delighted to share her teaching and performing expertise with the students of Music Authority!





Randy Koltyk, Drums and Guitar

Randy Koltyk (AKA-"Randy Cole") started piano lessons at six years of age with composer Marjorie Lildjegrin. At eight years old, began trumpet lessons with Irving Sarin (first chair trumpet with Boston and Pittsburgh symphonies) until age thirteen then continued trumpet studies with Gordon Smith (first chair trumpet with Detroit Symphony). At age fourteen Randy took up guitar and drums and at age sixteen he studied classical guitar with world renowned composer Joe LoDuca. Randy went on to play in many bands including Rowen Arc, Street Elite and Sinclair until joining The (Detroit) Meanies in 1987 and was signed with Capitol Records. Randy has performed and/or been the supporting act for bands such as, Cheap Trick, Megadeth, Sponge, Faith No More, Humble Pie, Mercyful Fate, Foghat, The Dickies, just to name a few and continues to perform locally with many acts.








Corinne Hawari, Piano

Corinne had studied piano under the tutelage of both Lana Gore and Pavel Vasilev for over fourteen years. Having both competed and succeeded in numerous competitions, she began teaching piano during the summer of 2005. She discovered a great passion for teaching. Her students have gone on to compete and place in many of the same competitions, but more importantly, they learn to cultivate a deep passion for music. Currently, Corinne is pursuing a degree in both Graphic Design and Music Theory from Wayne State University. In the fall of 2013 she became the head of our Music Play for Toddlers Class.










Joseph Brilla, Guitar

Joseph Brilla obtained an Associate Degree in Music from Henry Ford Community College where he studied with John Hall. He earned his B.A. and M.A. in Music from Wayne State University where he studied classical music under the guidance of Lee Dyament. Joseph has attended Master classes by guitarists Scott Tenant, Fareed Haque, and Fabio Zanon. He has played with the Jazz Big Band at the HFCC and has also played in several classic rock and oldies bands in the Metro Detroit. Joseph has studied a variety of musical styles focusing on Classical finger style guitar, mixed with jazz, blues, folk and popular music influences. He has been teaching the guitar for over fifteen years. Besides music, Joe enjoys biking, working out and practicing tai chi. Joseph enjoys teaching and is committed to helping students develop their talents to their full potential.








Veronica Cieri, Violin and Viola

Veronica Cieri is an active musician with extensive teaching experience and a passion for helping students grow through lessons that are tailored to the individual. Veronica earned her Bachelor's degree in Instrumental Performance at Western Michigan University and a Master's in Music Performance at Florida State University. While at FSU, Veronica performed in a masterclass for Grammy Award-winning ensemble eighth blackbird and accompanied violinist Joshua Bell as a member of the University Symphony Orchestra. Veronica has been a counselor at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp for four summers, where she has taken on teaching responsibilities related to viola sectionals, a fiddling class and a music appreciation class for middle-school students. Veronica has also taught in Michigan public schools as a substitute teacher and at an el sistema based after-school program. Veronica performs regularly as a violist in the Macomb Symphony Orchestra.







Shane McKeever, Piano and Flute

Shane McKeever is an accomplished pianist, flutist, and organist. He has been playing piano since the age of four. Under the tutelage of Mr. Pavel Vasilev, Shane has won numerous awards through the American Guild of Music. It was also through the firm foundation of classical music, Shane went on to learn the art of jazz music. He has had the honor of playing alongside jazz greats such as Wendell Harrison, Marcus Belgrave, Rodney Whitaker, and many others. Shane has released two Christmas CDs in addition to his two jazz CDs: " Finding My Way" was released in September 2010 and "Nightwalker" was released in October 2011. Currently Shane is attending Wayne State University where he just finished his third year in Music. Shane is a young professional who has accomplished a lot and has bright aspirations for the future.







Beatrice Hilado, Piano

Beatrice Hilado began her musical studies at the age of 5. Having studied through the Yamaha Method, which cultivates musicality from a young age, Beatrice is a specialist at working with young beginners. Throughout her musical career, she has won awards in both performance and composition. In addition to teaching, Beatrice performs as a percussionist with El Alma Espanola, a professional Spanish dance company based in the metro-Detroit area. An education major at Wayne State University, Beatrice aspires to change her students' lives through music.










Erik Sherman, Drums

Erik Sherman has been studying music since he was six years old. He studied the drums with legendary drum teacher Ray Parker. Erik has played in rock bands and school bands and currently plays percussion in the Redford Civic Symphony Orchestra. He is also a mentor to the percussionists in the Concert Orchestra of the Dearborn Youth Symphony. Erik is very passionate about all types of music, and in his free time helps his two daughters with practicing their various instruments! He hopes to inspire the percussion students of Music Authority and share with them his passion for music.








Noor Jumaa, Piano and Voice

Noor Masoud Jumaa started piano lessons at the age of four. She studied with Saad Mahmoud Hikmat in Iraq for over ten years. She has a B.S. in computer engineering from University of Technology - Baghdad, Iraq. Her studies in engineering did not stop her from learning and teaching music, she started giving music courses in Baghdad. In 2009, she moved to Lebanon where she started giving private lessons in piano in Al- Mokhtariste school and in the Norwegian community center. In 2011, she moved to Michigan, USA, where she studied with Leszek Bartkiewicz, and currently a student at Wayne State University seeking a bachelor’s degree in piano performance under the mentorship of Robert Conway. She has received a talent scholarship and endowed scholarships at Wayne State. Her teaching experience extends to include the various methods taught in Iraq, Lebanon and in the United States. Her love for music did not fade away despite the years she had to spend in engineering. She performed in different venues including solo piano recitals and competitions. She is happy to share her love for music with her students at Music Authority and help them pursue their goals.





John B. Dolph, Piano

John B. Dolph has performed as a Jazz Pianist since 2006. His gigs include bookings at Cliff Bells, the Detroit Athletic Club, the Chop House, the Atheneum, the Keystone Underground, Joe Muer’s of Detroit, and the Rattlesnake Club. John holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Wayne State University with a concentration in Jazz Studies and with piano as his musical instrument. He is also a graduate of Ann Arbor’s Community High School.

John Dolph is about to begin his ninth year of piano instruction for players of differing abilities. Beyond patience, humor and empathy, he has another gift. His students, young or old, committed or indifferent, emerge from one hour sessions wanting to play the piano learning to play the piano and becoming better piano players.
